Using their knowledge and skills of traditional Kouy dance, classical Cambodian dance and contemporary Cambodian dance, the two choreographers, KHA Sros and Belle, have been working together to explore the inseparable relationship we humans share with nature. While the wider world is getting more and more aware of the urgency to take care of our natural environment, we humans have always been both the caretaker and the destroyer of the world around us. As we interfere more and more with natural processes, the consequences get closer to our daily lives, affecting livelihoods and raising serious questions for the sustainability of the next generation. If you saw My Village Traditions in the last cultural season, and want to discover more about the ways communities in Cambodia are affected by changes to our natural world, this is a must see show. The performance includes indigenous dance, contemporary dance, live music and singing.
