AIMED AT: People seeking a unique experience of Cambodian arts and culture
Our Cultural Tours give you an insight into Cambodia like no other, through a unique blend of tourism and personal encounters with the people who’ve contributed to the country’s cultural re-emergence. You will have the chance to see the living arts in action and to meet artists, students and partners working to support and develop Cambodia’s rich artistic heritage. Through these intimate encounters you will come to understand the values and aspirations of Cambodian artists, the obstacles they face, and the vital role that culture plays in society here.
In 2019 we are offering several different types of trip throughout the year – please see below for details.
We hope that you can join us in Cambodia!
Our August Delegation will take you on a tour through Cambodia’s cultural highlights – from its ancient heritage and the temples of Angkor Wat, through CLA founder Arn CHORN-POND’s hometown of Battambang, to buzzing Phnom Penh and the country’s emerging contemporary arts scene.
Taking in Siem Reap, Battambang and Phnom Penh, and finishing with the highlights of the Arts4peace Festival, this tour is the perfect introduction to the sights, sounds, music and arts of Cambodia.
This tour will give a unique insight into the culture of neighboring Laos, visiting Luang Prabang and Vientiane, before heading to Phnom Penh for a behind-the-scenes experience of the Arts4peace Festival.
Focusing just on the Arts4peace Festival itself, this shorter tour will let you experience the homecoming performance of Bangsokol: A Requiem for Cambodia, a special concert by The Khmer Magic Music Bus, and a tribute to Cambodia’s Master Artists – all guided by our dedicated festival team.
We are partnering with Calder Classics to offer Classics in Cambodia, an experience designed for high school students with an interest in exploring new arenas of classical mythology and epic storytelling. Students will learn about the storytelling traditions of Cambodia and to think about how they compare with the classics of ancient Greece and Rome.
We can curate tailored trips for families and other groups that are designed especially around your interests. You will be accompanied by an experienced member of our team throughout, and get an insight into Cambodia through the lens of arts and culture unlike any other.
