What is the theme for the 2020 Cultural Season?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world is changing and so is Cambodia. With these changes and development (globalization, immigration\u2026etc.), some view this as a threat to \u201cCambodian Identity\/Pure Culture\u201d. With this current context, what do we mean by \u201cCambodian Identity, i.e. to remain the same or to extend the definition to respond to changes with time and space, and who has a right to (re)define it? With 90% of Cambodia\u2019s population being Khmer Ethnicity as the majority, how are different minorities (including indigenous people, Vietnamese, Cham, Chinese, and Lao) integrated? Does the emergence of diverse expressions (contemporary arts form, visibility of LGBT\u2026etc.) necessarily mean opposition to the dominant culture? How are they represented and from which point of view? Can all these different groups be together as \u201cus<\/strong>\u201d or should be separate from each other as \u201cthem<\/strong>\u201d?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
