We regularly arrange training and workshops on skills and knowledge that artists and other professionals tell us they need. This ranges from artistic skills, to technical skills such as sound and light, and management skills.
In 2017 we have arranged training on:
Composing: In July 2017, we hosted a two-week residency at the Heritage Hub in Siem Reap, training traditional artists on composition skills. At the end of the training they presented a series of new pieces they had created in an informal concert in Siem Reap.
In July 2016, we hosted the Nirmita Composers Workshop. Student composers and musicians from Cambodia, the USA, Myanmar and Laos, worked with a world-class faculty of professors and composers, let by renowned Cambodian-American composer Chinary UNG.
Production Management: We supported Amrita Performing Arts to develop a curriculum for a four-week training on Production Management. We have run this training two times during 2016, 2017, and 2018.
